Jaguar ECU

Going to start the next big project when I have all the feathers and bones.

So far I have the Emerald K6 ECU and tested it with the provided software.

While I am in there I will also replace the narrow band HEGO (Heated Exhaust Gas Oxygen) sensors with an Inovate 3844 MTXL wide band air/fuel ratio gauge/logger to have the ECU fine tune the mixture.

Still need:
  • 6 ballast resistors for the low impedance injectors. The ECU requires high impedance.
  • Three way switch and resistor to dynamically switch between ECU maps.
  • Fabricate an extended dash on the transmission tunnel for the AFR gauge, map switch, and idiot lights for low fuel, and radiator fan running.
All it takes is money, time and sweat.

Jaguar dyno run

Took the Jaguar in to my local dyno shop, Excessive Engineering, LLC soon to be renamed to Lugo Motorsports. 2320 Clark St. Suite A11, Apopka, FL.
I Just wanted to get a baseline benchmark before changing the stock ECU (Engine Computer) to an Emerald K6 ECU.

Put on the dynamometer  (rolling road) and did 3 pulls.
  1. Found why limited top speed. Getting starved for air.
  2. Disconnected MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor.
  3. Replaced 50mm MAF with 75mm MAF.
X axis = RPM x 500       Y axis BHP x 50    dots = FtLb Torque

As seen is this chart, 1st run not so good with a dip in HP between 4000 and 4500 RPM then maxing at 5000 RPM.

Very knowledgeable and helpful. Thanks Dennis.

Tonneau

New tonneau cover.

Had material left over to cover the center console. Had to take the duct tape off first.
