Per quart. It is going to take at least a gallon. Need to look at local paint supplier to see if it can be mixed a little cheaper.


Visit to the Jaguar today. Rear fenders removed and cleanup started.


Received my 4-point seat belts today. When I get the seat covers, I will be able to install the shoulder straps in the seat back.

Cockpit last week... ...and this week.

Rear fenders off for refinishing.

A lot of other stuff going on:
- Waiting for seat covers to be finshed.
- Scraping and painting the seat mounting hardware.
- Four point seat belts on back order.
- Building a wire loom for the HD AM-FM radio/CD/MP3 player.

Wired up the instrument lights and instruments except for sensors.


Lamp test successful! Now it is ready to go into the Jaguar.

Dashboard with left and right base pieces.


Dash with intruments in place, before doing veneer.


Instrument cluster after veneering with walnut burl and a dozen coats of polyurethane.


Completed dash. Almost ready to install in car. Big hole on the left is for the steering column and handle on the right is the towel holder for wiping sweat also know as the white knuckle bar.

I received the veneer last Wednesday and started right away. Most time spent waiting for the glue to dry. Then a couple of days adding coats of polyurethane.

Yesterday visited the Jag and picked up the dashboard and gauges. Today I started to work on the dash. Made some templates for wood backing and black walnut burlwood veneer that I ordered today.



Looking into getting some Fiero bucket seats to replace the stock Jaguar ones. The Fiero seat was especially designed for the Fiero by the Lear Corporation. It is unusually low and narrow, with unusually good side support. They also have stereo speakers built into the headrests.

Got the gauges! Speedometer goes to 160 MPH, Tachometer 10,000 RPM. Water temperature and Oil pressure. The white box has the Hall Effect transducer for the speedometer.


Keeping the petrol level guage, but removing the Ammeter and replacing with the oil pressure. The combination Oil Pressure/Water Temperature guage will be Water Temperature only.


The dash board covering is dyed leather. Looking in to getting some Burlwood veneer to replace the leather like the Drop Head Coupe model has.

I have been looking at replacement instruments for the dashboard. The Tachometer is going from mechanical to electric. The new speedometer I have been researching are electronic and programmable. Which makes it a lot easier to calibrate for different tire sizes. I have pretty much settled on the Autometer Cobalt series.

The Cosy engine sounds a lot like the Jag engine.
Left channel is the Ford-Cosworth and Right Channel is the original Jaguar engine.
