Jaguar project intake manifold

Finished the intake manifold and reinstalled on the engine. Looks a lot better, but does not change the performance.

Now just a simple matter of putting the bonnet back on and going for a nice long test drive.

Jaguar project update

New 2 ear hub caps for the wire wheels

Longer bolt, lock washer, fender washer, fabricated plate, spacer ring and hub cap

Looking good when done mounting.
Cleaning up the intake manifold.

Pulled the intake manifold to clean up.

Will skip pulling the fuel rail and injectors. This is how you get to them.

I thought it was powder coated, but just painted.

See if I can polish the aluminium and see how it turns out then decide if I want to repaint.

Underside with casting stamps. FB for FBA model and 1993 casting year.

I had a bad transmission leak. I pulled the transmission and found it was the bell housing where it mated with the shift rod. Repaired it with epoxy clay and a new gasket fabricated from gasket material. No more leak.

On the road again

On the road again the past few days. Tried making a video with DVR-530 mounted on the deck behind and between the seats. The video is ok, but the wind noise drowns out the engine noise above 40 MPH or so.
About 1/2 hour before sunset.
I should have updated this earlier with the tunnel and seats back in.

The center console works out nicely. Just the right height. Now have to get on with finishing the interior and getting rid of the temporary duct tape over the foam on the console.

T9 transmission install

Ready to receive the transmission.

Installed, now the rest of the stuff to connect it all together.

Drive shaft connected, still a lot of stuff to reconnect. Hall effect sensor for speedometer, back up light switch, and double check all the bolts for proper torque.
Transmission and drive shaft tunnels, seats and seat belts. While I am at it, installing an idiot light for low fuel, and another indicator for when the radiator fan is running.

New T9 transmission

It arrived today, now it is just a simple matter of installing and putting the rest of the car together.

Heavy duty cluster gear shaft bearing (colored bolts). This is what failed on the old transmission, so it must not be an uncommon failure.
